题目：Overlapping Community Detection in Complex Networks using Symmetric Binary Matrix Factorization

摘要：Discovering overlapping community structures is a crucial step to understanding the structure and dynamics of many networks.  We develop a symmetric binary matrix factorization model (SBMF) to identify overlapping communities. Our model allows us not only to assign community memberships explicitly to nodes, but also to distinguish outliers from overlapping nodes. In addition, we propose a modified partition density to evaluate the quality of community structures. We use this to determine the most appropriate number of communities. We evaluate our methods using both synthetic benchmarks and real world networks, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.

报告人简介：张忠元教授：1979年生，2002.7 毕业于辽宁师范大学数学学院，获学士学位；2005.7毕业于大连理工大学应用数学系运筹学与控制论专业，获理学硕士学位；2008.7 毕业于中国科学院数学与系统研究院运筹学与控制论专业,获理学博士学位，2008.8到中央财经大学数学与统计学院工作，2014年晋升为博士生导师, 2015年晋升为教授，目前为中国计算机学会高级会员。主要研究兴趣为复杂网络分析和网络动力学相关领域，主持国家自然科学基金一项，在国内外重要学术刊物发表论文10余篇，包括Physical Review E、EPL、Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery、Scientific Reports、中国科学等国内外领域一流期刊。
